Overview

Featuring Rebecca McCullough (Eden Consultancy NI), Julia McKeever, a mother who tragically lost her son to suicide and a young autistic man called Ethan this short film promises to be a moving experience that delves into the critical intersection of autism and Mental Health. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion.   Research shows that autistic adults are 9 times more likely to die by suicide than the general population, 77% of young autistic adults have an additional diagnosis of a mental health condition. With such high statistics it leads us to the question of why?  This film was made possible through the generous funding provided by the Public Health Agency and Protect Life Strategy Southern Trust. This short film is more than just a screening, it is an opportunity to shed light on the challenges faced by autistic individuals and to cultivate greater empathy and understanding.    Your presence and support at this event signifies your active participation in our mission to enhance the lives of autistic individuals living with Mental Health difficulties here in Northern Ireland. Together, we can make a tangible difference, providing essential services, reducing the prevalence of suicide ad extending a lifeline to those in need.
