The title of this study ‘Is Anyone Listening?’ was chosen as it best describes the feelings of parents of children and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)1 who took part in the study. Many
feel misunderstood and ignored by society, resulting in experiences of frustration, despair and social isolation with minimal support. Professionals working with families confi rm parent’s experiences, and
identify changes needed.
