Jim Donnelly

Jim is the current Joint Chief Executive at Active Communities Network, a charity that uses positive activities to enable change in young people and communities which have been disadvantaged.

Jim began volunteering in the community of west Belfast at the age of 16, setting up a Youth Committee which he chaired in Springhill Community Centre. Throughout his life he has witnessed first-hand the community value of sport, education, and youth work, leading him to establish Cumann Spoirt an Phobail (Community Sports Club) in 2004.

Jim is currently the Chair of West Belfast Partnership Board and vice Chair of the District Policing and Community Safety Partnership for West Belfast. Jim is the former chair of Upper Springfield Integrated Partnership, is currently a member of the Belfast City Council Shared City Partnership and Policing and Community Safety Partnership. Jim holds a Master’s Degree in Restorative Practices, graduating with a commendation.
