Trauma Summit 2020
Belfast has a tragic legacy of trauma from the ‘Troubles’. Trauma goes down the generations and affects the whole family. As a result, we have the highest suicide rate in the UK and the worst mental health statistics. Trauma also affects a great many other people and in many different ways, leading to illness, addictions, depression, rage and aggression. However trauma is an injury, not an illness and can be successfully healed.
The Trauma Summit is for professionals who deal with trauma and its consequences and anyone else with a particular interest in learning about trauma, anxiety and stress. It draws together experts from across the world and will bring you up to date with the latest statistics, thinking and healing techniques.
This is a biennial event with over 1800 attending in 2018 from 24 different countries, all of whom attended to hear leading world experts discuss the impact of traumatic events on our short term and long term mental health, and what we can do about it.
